Trompowsky Attack

1.d4 Nf6 2.Bg5 — pin the knight on move 2 and sidestep every Indian and King's Indian setup. The Tromp is a low-theory, high-pressure system used by Carlsen, Hodgson and Adams to dodge Black's prep entirely.

One opening that beats the Nimzo, King's Indian, Grünfeld, Benoni and Slav setups in a single move. 7 drills × 15 White moves cover every serious Black reply — 2...Ne4, 2...e6, 2...d5, 2...c5, 2...g6, 2...d6 and 2...h6 — followed by 30 puzzles drilling the Trompowsky's recurring patterns: doubling Black's pawns, the f3/e4 pawn-grab, queenside castling with h4-h5, and the Vaganian d5 thrust.
