Sokolsky Opening

White's complete intermediate repertoire in the Sokolsky/Polish Opening (1.b4). Seven drills cover the main 1...e5 with 2.Bb2 Bxb4 3.Bxe5, the solid 1...d5, 1...Nf6 with c4 anti-Indian, 1...c6 outflank with a3, 1...a5 Birmingham, the French-style 1...e6, and the mirror 1...b6 with d4.

The Sokolsky Opening (1.b4), also known as the Polish or Orangutan, is a fully sound flank weapon — White grabs queenside space, fianchettoes the dark-square bishop, and disrupts Black's preparation from move one. This pack delivers a complete intermediate White repertoire for the seven critical Black answers: the principled 1...e5 with the Bb2/Bxe5 recapture and harmonious development, the solid 1...d5 with the c4 break and Sokolsky regrouping, the flexible 1...Nf6 with the c4 anti-Indian setup, the prophylactic 1...c6 with a3 and a classical centre, the direct 1...a5 with b5 and a Benoni-style structure, the French-like 1...e6 with the queenside expansion, and the mirror 1...b6 with c4/d4 to claim the centre. Thirty exam positions sharpen the key decisions — when to play c4, when to push b5, the bishop's long-diagonal moves and the queenside regroupings — so every Black first move has a prepared, principled White answer.
