Closed Sicilian

Sidestep miles of Open Sicilian theory: keep the d-pawn home, fianchetto on g2, and launch a slow kingside pawn storm with f4–f5.

The Closed Sicilian is Spassky's lifelong weapon against the Sicilian and one of the most under-prepared lines at club level. You avoid the entire Najdorf/Sveshnikov/Dragon library, set up a King's-Indian-Attack-style structure (g3, Bg2, d3, Nc3, f4), and aim every piece at Black's king. With 7 drills covering ...g6, ...e6, ...d6, ...a6/...b5 and Grand-Prix style f4-attacks, you'll have a complete, strategic answer to 1...c5 that's easy to play and hard to face.
